Guided Imagery Helps Patients

In a recent interview with National Public Radio’s “Take Care,” Jane Pernotto Ehrman of the Cleveland Clinic discusses how guided imagery helps patients cope with medical treatments. Ehrman promotes guided imagery to help patients handle everything from nausea during pregnancy to the debilitating side effects of chemotherapy.

Research shows that adjusting the way the mind functions through Guided Imagery affects how the body behaves. Ehrman says that patients who use guided imagery often require less anesthesia, handle pain better and recover faster than patients who do not.
